Isn't it a TP encoding mode called Adaptive Coding and Modulation?
Hi all,
I see some TP's on Optus D2,D1 that are encoded as ACM (that is what EBSpro is telling me with my tuner).
I use a TBS5980 USB tuner which does not support ACM but I noticed there are other more expensive USB tuners that do.
Are there any FTA ACM KU signals available in Australia and if so what kinds of services are they? (or are they mainly IP data streams) ?

ACM in this instance is Adaptive Coding and Modulation.
Pretty much all DVB-S2 transmissions incorporate it.
In simple terms, it's an automatic variable FEC rate.
The issue your decoder may have is that is may not cover the full range.
Eg: ACM encoding can include 16APSK and 32APSK which your tuner may not be capable of decoding, but can probably handle QPSK and 8PSK.

Are there any FTA transmissions Video/Audio in ACM (16APSK and 32APSK modes) that is worth having a look at?
I note the decoders which can do those modes are somewhat more expensive then your average everyday one!

I'm not aware of any FTA 16APSK and 32APSK transmissions on the Optus sats.
Channel 9 has several channels on Intelsat 19 @ 16APSK multistream.
There's a separate thread about it .
