    Default HP 251-a105a Desktop INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

    INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
Need advice on this issue please?
I first tried to reset the pc to factory settings then it returns to the screen ready to reset (I have reset it twice) I removed the hdd and scanned for viruses and errors(It did pick up a few bugs). I removed the cmos battery for 20 seconds. I checked for loose cables
Then if I try to load windows 10 it gives me the msg INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
In the bios there is a test called DSP I think its called. This staled at 60%. No idea what that means..
    Some advice would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Roy

sounds like a INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE ha ha
    sorry
if you dont need to boot to the old os ? you need hard drive of course, & a working dvd drive, dvd with windows?
    more info
sata hard drive? dvd drive? bootable dvd?
maybe theres no recovery, so you need clean install
set dvd to 1st boot in bios, hdd to 2nd boot
hopefully it'll boot to the dvd & your off

    ps
in bios, you can set defaults 1st, then do boot order
& if it says "press any key to boot" only do it the 1st time
if you do it after a restart when its installing,it'll start over

The only time I've seen this error on WIndows 10 is when the boot mode has been changed.
    Have you changed the boot mode ie;
Changed IDE mode to AHCI mode or vica versa?

If you have go into bios and change it back.

Thanks for the info Phil and whiteox. My problem is X:\Sources\Recovery\Tools\HP\Rita-Tool\ During HP Recovery, it comes up and says this is missing. So I was attempting to use Windows 10 boot manager, but this always returned with it could not complete no files have been changed and rebooting the system would give the msg INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.
I read somewhere you can make the hidden partition active then boot the hdd, but via windows 7 disk manager didnt allow this and a free version of EaseUS Partition Master didn't allow this either. So my next step will be Phils first post. I'll post the end results
    Cheers guy

yea unlucky for them the're recovery manager worked. Good luckwith recovering there data :-)
. So windows 10 install from usb and worked out well. The 4gb update took about half hour to download but installing it took forever (Happy updating lol). 3 hours later it was still going so i turned the screen off and shut it down in the morning.
Additionally it will run a lot better too Im sure now it doesnt have all the hp crapware.

it was a crazy update (4gb). I understand its how m$ roll out updates now but it'll be brutal for anyone on wifi. Like a big slap in the face!
Same here can never have enough backups.
