    Default ram or ssd

bought a all in one for my niece, pos but anyway for $100
only 1.4 cpu, least its ddr3
    i got 4gb into it & a fresh win 8

im thinking either a ssd 250gb for another 100 or just another 2-4 ram for $40
not both, its not worth it

which way would you go? im pretty sure ssd is going to be best option

oh, its only for some book work, emails ect

I don't think the extra RAM would be overly beneficial with that CPU, so my choice would be the SSD.

SSD will make this system boot a lot faster and run just as smooth. RAM would only make a spec of difference so you would be disappointed.

I think the popular opinion is SSD! Just so the RAM doesn't feel left out, I would have voted for the RAM, but....you'll get better performance with the SSD.

Maybe you'd be better off, though selling the lot and looking at a second hand device with better spec on the various auction sites. (i.e. those that sell surplus government technology - not necessarily eBay or Gumtree).
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

SSD - I always chat about SSD when fixing old unibody macbooks - the speed difference is huge with a SSD installed

I agree, another fresh install onto an SSD will make it feel faster. If you had said 2gb of ram, I would say that also. I have some small form factor PCs that take laptop ram, and I try to keep 8gb in them. Although, they are running Windows 10.
