Dear All, I am in the start of a major learning curve - not familiar with Forums and not familiar with Victa lawnmowers!
Still I think that I am in the right place within the Forum, and I would like information on the lawnmower.
I have been given a Victa Key start, electronic ignition, 2-stroke lawnmower (I believe the model is TKS482?).
I have started work on the mower (that is cleaned out all the old grass cuttings etc.), have re-charged the battery (which surprisingly held its 12 volts) and been able to turn the engine over using the Key start.
However there is no spark at the plug. My initial check on the electronic module shows a resistance of 5.48 Kohms - I guess that is a little high? I did try taking the connections from the carburettor - but still no spark.
What I would like is a wiring diagram, so that I can check out what is where, and a diagram of the engine etc.. would also help.
Any help/information appreciated - Arthur

I'd start by replacing the plug, you might be surprised.

I found some information at the Victa website .
A good search engine should provide further insight.
Try ALL search engines...there are many...if you don't know their names, use a search engine to look for other search engines....no single search engine is definitive.
Edit....
For detailed information concerning the motor, SEARCH for the particular brand and model (i.e. Briggs and Stratton, Honda etc.) for the mower in question (You haven't stated which motor is fitted to your unit).
It's all out there.
Do a little lateral thinking.

Its more than likely the coil a relatively easy fix
G'day to all, and thanks for the replies. I have changed the plug - no difference, have spoken to my local lawnmower shop, who suggested that I would be lucky to get any further!!! Not sure of engine type (is there some from of identification somewhere on the machine?). I am afraid that I cannot give in quite so quickly
Last one i fixed with no spark was the electronic control module.
Damn wished they stuck to points......
There should be some form of identification on the motor somewhere, perhaps beneath the exhaust manifold (from memory). You might have to tip the machine upside down.
Now, a twenty second search using duckduckgo reveals that there are a number of versions of the TKS242....
Similarly, duckduckgo reveals that the pushmowerrepair website could be a good place to look for further information. (At least it has been for me in the past).
If you can't find it there, try in other locations.
The internet, coupled with one (or more) of the many SEARCH engines, which are available, is a wonderful resource.
When I had problems with my Victa mower several years ago, I found all the information I needed to trouble-shoot and repair it by using this method. It takes time and some thought but can be done by anyone, who exercises patience and perseverance.
