Saw that the other day on YT, the way he pulled through gears was very disturbing
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Pull through the gears....needs to be done that way, its a Hollinger sequential box, with a pressure sensitive lever.

When you put pressure on the lever it monetarily kills the power, long enough for the next gears to mesh.

Clutch is only used to take off.

I drove a car a week ago with one and without the pressure sensitive lever (expensive option and you need to configure the ECU to it), just lifted the throttle and banged the next gear without using the clutch.

Takes a bit of getting use to.....

If the ECU is configured correctly you should not back off the throttle, the ECU does that for you.

With a sequential box you can shift up gears, without the ECU programming, if you just lift on the throttle and bang the next gear without using the clutch

Yes i mentioned just lifting when i drove it.

Thats the whole idea of the special lever, it has a pressure sensitive switch, note how the guy pulled and released it keeping his hand clear of it, when you have that there in no lifting, you just stay on the gas.

The one i drove didnt have the switched lever, it was just the lever directly connected to the box, you needed to lift the throttle, then pull and get back on it without touching the clutch.

Owner of the car that just bought it was pissed after he kept crunching it while i just hopped in and went for it.

Mind you i did have one spaz moment when i got my lift while down shifting mixed with a accidental clutch push and managed to crunch it once.....sounded terrible.

I thought the object was to blow the doors off the competition, not yourself!

If anyone is interested in the technology of dog boxes and what some people are doing with them, i have a clip in my youtube channel of a Hollinger with airshifter, who needs a gear lever....apparently a nightmare to program and set up correctly....
