Default Blu-Ray Recorder Using HDMI as source Input

Does anyone know if there is a Blu-ray recorder that will record from an HDMI output?

IN other words does it have HDMI as a selectable input, so as to record directly from an HDMI source to blu-ray disc?

    thanks all in advance

Never seen (or heard of) a standalone Blu-ray recorder with HDMI input.

The reason is to prevent high-quality pirate copies.

You can of course obtain Blu-ray duplication with computer burners.

You would need something like this....

This will record from a HD source, but you would then have to create a bluray on a PC from the files.

I have something similar from COSHIP, but they are no longer available as far as I know. I use it to record HD content from Foxtel then convert it to MP4. Never tried it from a bluray but I may give it a go.

There are a couple of issues...HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) would probably get in the way. With mine I use a HDMI splitter which strips the HDCP off, although there was a firmware change that did this, I never did it.

Doesn't do what the OP wants though.

Also in the description, it says:

[Note]: This device will not allow recording HDMI content with HDCP encrypted from commercial sources such as blu-ray player, HD cable box, PS3, etc. In such case please use component video output from such HDMI source for HD video recording.

Yeah, but using a suitable splitter strips the HDCP off. Mine is set up with the same restriction and works fine....
