Honestly, I would get yourself an apu from pc engines and stick with pfsense. Move your firewall rules to the pfsense machine and remove the Cisco. Then enjoy having a very low power reliable router.

hopefully this is the correct forum, if not mods feel free to move it.
i have been running pfsense for a while now, but getting several people suggest i move over to sophos.
it has been a while since ive played with sophos, so am just wondering if i should, or am i better sticking with pfsense.
at present all pfsense is doing is handling the ppoe to a d-link in bridge mode, and some firewall rules, with mu cisco 1840 doing more deep firewall rules.
i am just waiting for some new nics to arrive, and then i will make a decision also based on feedback and options i receive here.
EDIT:
i also want to upgrade the pc running it (an old p4) and am looking at something like the DELL PowerEdge 2950

Love pfsense; currently running it as a VM on a separate vlan for my guest wifi network.
I'm sorry to say that I'm not familiar with either pfsense or sophos. What are they meant to play?
