Been watching since 2am this morning.
    Some disgusting reporting being published.

    Terror or just a nutter?

Wonder if it was like the Melbourne Nutter, where Police had him surrounded in a home before he could hurt anyone.
Police called in that he had a gun, Police told to leave for personal safety reasons, SOG's called to take over, in the mean time, the nutter just drove away of his own free will.
No one to stop him. Literally let go.

Probably a nutter who has been radicalised, as seems to be the common theme in a lot of attacks. Nutters find a cause to vent their craziness, which fits in with IS's model of terrorism. Apparently the cops know who he is, but haven't released the name to the public, according to news reports.

Situations like this only increase xenophobia for the truly peaceful Wiley Oriental Gentleman (S) out there. How do you police it other than censorship and banning certain groups? Unfortunately, in this connected world, much of this is impossible. Do we arrest people for accessing such info? The problem being we cannot deal with any of these idiots until they actually do something, then, of course, for the victims, it's too late.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

They say the suspect was on a "Watch List"......
Makes you wonder what these watch lists are for?
Maybe its time they just start deporting people that make a "Watch List" if they are new to the country.

I see Pauline Hanson has come out swinging, telling us to "Pray 4 a Muslim Ban"

Bit of an oxymoron if you ask me.

There would be thousands of people on watch lists - 10's of thousands information is shared between countries. These lists would be set to send alerts to certain agencies when the individuals undertake certain acts: book airline tickets, apply for passports, are linked to certain associates, access certain websites, move addresses, come under police contact, etc.

Being on a 'watch list' does not mean the person is physically being surveilled, nor that these people are prevented from undertaking attacks such as these simply by virtue of being on a list.

Trouble is that in our "enlightened" society we don't REALLY deal with them do we....?

Looks like the London Police Force have let the deceased Policeman down

Being expected to man the gate to the houses of parliament without even a sidearm.
Seriously, haven't the UK learnt anything, did they learn nothing from the killing of Lee Rigby???

That's pretty poor, especially for officers guarding such a vulnerable, high-profile site.

A majority of London MET Police officers have historically not wanted to carry firearms.

These days... bugger that... I'd be insisting on it, whether they wanted them or not.

The only thing that stopped the attack in Nice was police shooting the truck driver.

Imagine having to make a call for specialist armed offices to back you up because you were unarmed and the increased risk to the public waiting for their arrival.

Britain need to re-evaluate their risk and arm ALL officers.

Sadly, the days of the easy-going unarmed Bobby ended long ago.

British-born jihadist who killed three and injured 29 is middle-aged 'father-of-three English teacher' Khalid Masood who had long criminal record and was once probed by MI5 over violent extremism
    Great Watch List
A long list of crimes, but able to be a Teacher?

Politically correct attitudes are exploited by the violent and the criminal. Nothing new there.

Charged for stabbing a person in the face, a series of GBH charges.... And a Tick from the Education Dept.
Police with no way to defend themselves, no side arms..... Well they have Spray, not much point bringing OC Spray to a Gun Fight.

Yep, they are ripe for exploitation, that is for sure!

What concerns me here in Australia, is the amount of new Muslim (Jihad looking) Truck Drivers, big Trucks "B-Doubles" and Tankers.
Seems like the planning for the new 9/11 to me

But of course, we can't say anything, instead we offer them Free Driver Training, Financial Support, Job Start.
What a nice Country we are , supporting potential terrorism like that.

Give it time, it will happen.

Following that logic I could say that every long haired, unshaven or bald and tattooed person should be locked up, because the probability of becoming a victim of a violent crime from those 'types' is likely higher than from a Muslim 'Jihad looking' person.
The general attitude here that a Muslim is always going to be a terrorist is not doing any good.

If there is any blame here for 'supporting terrorism' then I would look at those who have these watchlists but are looking the other way when they release them despite their known criminal activity, period !!!

Why? ...because statistically I am far more likely to die from a person with a tattoo of any nationality (king hit, robbery, drunk driver, whatever) than a
Muslim performing a terror attack in Australia.
Yet it would be ridiculous for me to claim that we must not employ people with a tattoo anymore because people with tattoos can become criminals.
Your 'solution' not to employ people who look like Muslims would not stop a REAL CRIMINAL from simply stealing a vehicle for a terror act.

Fact is that this London terror act and the one back then at Lindt cafe were performed by KNOWN CRIMINALS.
So not giving Muslims any jobs (as drivers) would have done shit to stop these terrible acts.
Properly monitoring these criminals most likely would have stopped these events.
That a known criminal was still allowed to work as a teacher is a crime in itself by whoever approved of that.

If you want to generally stop Muslims from getting jobs in Australia then that is nothing more than out-right racism.

    Rasism is all about hate.
    Hate breeds and feeds terrorism.
So you would be supporting terrorism.

Seems the guy wasn't Muslim to begin with anyway. He started acting strange, then left home, then somewhere between then and committing the crime (possibly whilst living in a sharehouse) he converted to Islam and became radicalised. So, no sanctions against Muslims would have prevented him doing what he did anyway.
