    Default Laptop/Netbook Suggestions - Sub $500

Can anyone suggest a Windows Laptop or Netbook for around $500.
I haven't looked for years, so not even sure where to start.

    Light weight
    13" or there abouts
    CD drive not really necessary

Just thought some members here might have recently purchased a unit they are happy with
    Thanks

What do you need it to do?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

It is just for the Mrs mate.
She does everything on her phone or tablet

But there are some things were a proper laptop is needed
(personally i don't how she does so much on a phone, they shit me to tears)
I need a keyboard and multiple screens open at once!

She really just does web browsing, TAB betting, House Hunting, emails, Facebook, that kind of thing.
But for proper file storage, printing and real work, i just feel she needs a lappy.

Occasionally, like currently, there are files she needs to open which need a laptop.

    Hope that makes sense.
Light weight, Good Screen, Good Battery Life is all she would need i guess.
    Numeric Pad not required
    CD Rom not requited

I ask, because 10 years ago, there were heaps of $500 laptops (i even had one myself)
But now, all these small laptops seem to be $997 or $1200 or $1700
(as we found in the Good Guys yesterday)

    Oh yeah......

I'd seriously think about Seymours OB. Looks like excellent value to me.

I don't know if you are a Windows guy, but SSDs transform them into rockets and you won't find a low price one that has them.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

Yes mate, i am seriously considering it
To be honest, i was looking for something more around the 13" size.

But i do agree it would be a nice lappy, everything from Seymour comes set up well.

Yes Mark is very anal with everything he owns, really looks after his gear, and when he says what it is, its exactly what you get without the bullshit

Apple MacBook Pro 15.4". Now it cost around 500$. Intel Core i7. As for me - a good option
To succeed in the world it is not enough to be stupid, you must also be well-mannered.
