    Default halal certification

Seems more and more food suppliers are blind folded and following this total bullshit, you can stick your halal certification right up your arse, I refuse to buy any product that carries this brainwashed bullshit, goodbye Cadburys chocolates, your Easter shit wont be permitted in my house this year!

Credit to Pauline Hanson for vowing to get rid of it.

Personally, I don't really care if the cult-followers want it, they could have specialty stores where 'they' pay for the privilege, not unlike Asian grocers, etc, but there should be no forcing the rest of us to have it, and having to pay extra for something we don't even want!

You could count in seconds how long we'd live if we went to a Muslim country and demanded non-halal.

I doubt alcohol will be... it's banned... but sadly, Vegemite already is 'certified'.

Our biggest Meat Processor here has been and sadly still is Halal Certified

It must purely be a financial decision (as they export a lot)
Because the founder, owner and CEO is a down to earth local chap, loves his beer, loves his horse racing (part owner of Jameka)
But, he does employ a massive amount of muslim workers in his processing plant
The Colac Abattoir is the same, full of Sudanese Muslims
Both places probably rich with 457 Visa's for cheap labour.

Like you Rick, i pick up a bit of meat to inspect it, turn in over and see that logo and i feel cheated.
I just put it back down and walk out.

Exactly how I feel, My guess these food producers are merely cashing in on it, maybe I would sell more Tassi peppers if I certify them halal

Go one step further Rick, press your thumb into all Halal Cert Eggs you find on the shelves, making them unsellable

Or open a pack of Pork Scratchings and jam one in every Halal Egg Box

Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. In reference to food, it is the dietary standard, as prescribed in the Koran. By official definition, Halal foods are those that are: 1. Free from any component that Muslims are prohibited from consuming according to Islamic law. There's the problem! And because of their retarded laws, the food producers feel compelled to give into this stupid laws in return for sales.

Exactly, that's all it means. It doesn't mean the food has been tampered with in any way, all it is, is an indication for the purchaser that it conforms to their requirements. But as most of us couldn't give a rats which way the beast was facing when it was killed, or that they may use animal fats in the production of a product, why would you care? Do you feel the same about Kosher certified products?

The difference is that it does not cost them money to get the OK.

The way I see it is that ANYONE who believes that halal is OK believes in religion...so anyone in this thread who is in favour has no right to criticise the religious at any time....unless they are just anti Christian bigots of course.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

@ Resches: Actually it does cost to get Kosher Certification, and also organic. I think the dolphins only charge in fish though.
@enf: I'm not religious myself, but don't see the problem with other religions being able to easily distinguish particular products that are suitable for their requirements. The same as I have no problem with people wanting to be able to tell that food is produced organically... It doesn't mean it will make you different, or taste different, in fact it isn't there is nothing different about it, it's the same food. It simply has a sticker on it... The Halal and Kosher that is...

I don't either, I just don't see why they are allowed to extort money from all of us to finance their boogaboo....which is all it is....
