comes with eight octa-core Cortex A53 cores
So, that makes 64 cores? it had better perform! Pedant? Moi?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

    Found this...
According to the leak, both mid-range chips would use eight Cortex-A53 cores in an octa-core arrangement. Some would have preferred the superior Cortex-A73 cores but then, it’s just a rumor until Qualcomm goes official with it.

Thanks for that but will resist and wait to see if they unlock it.

Certainly a few nice features but not enough for this dumbo to risk bricking a good phone.

Yet to receive them but hopefully not too far off.
All three arrived yesterday. (Same seller)

For the first one they sent two blue covers when the order was for a Blue and a Black one. They were fiddly to put on and did not improve grip when fitted. Plus they attracted fingerprints and not easy to clean.

The other black one improved the grip a little but also attracted fingerprints too easily.

    So no recommendations for either.

Have you found a leather flip cover that completely covers the Micro USB port when closed
The kind that has a magnet latch on the top

I know they are daggy, but they have been the only style of cover that 100% protects my phones from drop damage and keeps the Micro USB port clean and working.
Samsung S3 is still going strong using this style of cover and it gets dropped and cartwheels down concrete driveways on a regular basis.
Haven't damaged the phone or screen one bit, not even a mark.

But i've gone through 2 covers, they take the impact and become the deformable object.

Somebody on Whirlpool bought this cover...

Yet to see one for any of my phones that cover the USB port. My HTC M7 came with a similar cover but never used it. Being pink had a wee bit to do with it but never needed that much protection anyway.

Yeah, i've always found, with the work i do or even dirty dusty pockets, the Micro USB port gets crap in it, leading to charging problems.

    Im getting confused

This Note 4 has the Snapdragon cpu
    Yours has the Helio X20

So are you saying there are 2 variants of the Note 4 and then also the Note 4X on top of that?

So far we have posted these:
    Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 4G Phablet - 64Gb Helio X20 - $239AUD:
    Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 4G Phablet - 32Gb Snapdragon - $200AUD:

So far, no Note 4X at all in the above

Yes I know mine has the Helio X20 but we have had discussion on the merits of both these two CPUs. The difference is minimal and would recommend mine or the last one linked. Specials occur spasmodically for this phone and only providing info for those interested.

So far, no Note 4X at all in the above

Here is a link to an International 4X...

    No my point was.
I thought the Note 4 had the X20 and Note 4X had the Snapdragon.

I didn't realise there was 2 variants of the Note 4 itself.

Then the Note 4X on top of that.
which seems to only have the Snapdragon CPU
Or is their 2 variants of the Note 4X as well?

    EDIT: This might help

Then there is the Note 4 Pro and Special Edition, which are the same thing i think
Then there is the Note 4 Prime (India)
man there are some variables with Xiaomi

Snapdragon goes a lot easier on Battery Life than the X20

Early Indian version I believe did not have the full metal body and earlier still were all plastic bodies.

All we should look for is the International / Global model. All aluminum body on those.

Again I would say the difference is nothing to be concerned about. My X20 CPU Note 4 has excellent battery life.

When you visit the Mi Global site, there is no longer a Redmi 4 or Note 4
But they do have the Redmi Pro with Dual Camera

Which is an older device with a CPU they don't offer updates for.
Hard to follow this companies devices and marketing.

    Ain't that the truth!

No wonder it has no manual as even they couldn't keep up with the various models a numerous changes to them.

Default Redmi Note 4 - ROMs for each chipset

Redmi Note 4 MTK Global, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm Global, Redmi Note 4 MTK China

You can flash these ROMs to any Redmi Note 4 that has the matching chipset
You can buy the cheapest Chinese Version of the Phone and put the Global ROM on it or China ROM, or Vice Versa, it is all interchangeable.

    Also has Developer ROMs available.

For anyone reading this thread, thinking about a Xiaomi phone, but don't want to take a step backwards from the usual flagship Phones (Samsung S7, Google Pixel, etc)
Take a look at the Xiaomi Mi5s

Same camera as the Google Pixel
    Snapdragon 821
Half the price of the mainstream flagships.

The Redmi Note 4 is fantastic in its price range
But if you just can't live with its average camera, the Xiaomi Mi5s is your pick

Lenovo P2 has a Great Camera, best Battery Life of all phones and Great display
It is also worth a look.
