    Horrible fringe reception!

BUGGER! Haven't had the chance to check that out but not too concerned after remembering many years ago having to leave a country restaurant and almost stand in the middle of the highway to take a call. With Optus then and Helstra had better coverage but these days my wanderings do not take me to fringe reception areas and if so don't notice lack if any coverage for short periods it may occur.

For the money this Note4 is good value IMO but certainly would look at upgrading to another Xiaomi such as...

    I agree.....

    The Battery is great
    Screen is fine
    CPU is all you need

If they get a Camera on par with the Flagship models, Better Reception and Longevity, they have won the war!

For $200 i'm happy (an mine ended up being Free)
Sure beats paying $1240 for a Google Pixel from JB and having it break with-in 5 months, needing total replacement.

With the Price of the top tier Xiaomi phones, i'd be more inclined to buy a Samsung or Huawei cheap off eBay

    Default Medium Term Review

    Pros:
Excellent Built Quality: every time i pick it up, it is just so much more sturdy and serious than the Samsung Galaxy's.
Battery Life: haven't seen a smartphone like, get 2 days easy
    Screen:very happy with it
CPU: I hasn't seem it struggle with anything i've done
MUIU: Bit strange at first, but it has some cool features
    Price: Seriously, what comes close?

    Cons:
Camera: But not as much any more, i have learnt how to make photos better, but it is still no Samsung S7 or S8 or Note 4
Charging Time: Doesn't bother me, but it might bother some.

Obviously, it is the Battery Time that is the overall winner, after all, none of the features matter, if your phone has turned itself off!
Something i was having to deal with a lot with my old phone.

I've been having trouble with the phone mic some times it works and other times you have to use the speaker phone mic, bloody pain.

I've noticed the Battery Life on the RN4 isn't what it used to be.
    Used to get 2 days
    Now its really 1 day
    Charging is very slow also

Already gone from 100% to 89% just this morning.
    And that's not quite 1hr

Hard to say as mine goes onto the charger each night when I retire and battery usage seems about the same as it normally is.

Will keep a check on usage and charging time and get back to you.

    Not really!

That is only out of habit and has always been plugged into a charger overnight no matter what phone I have had.

In fact it is still plugged into one now at 1pm

PS: Just signed up for a Bendigo Bank's SIM card. 12 monthly contract is $10 a month cheaper than monthly.(Uses Optus 3G)

I kept an eye on my usage the last two days.

    Day 1 - Off charger 1pm back on about 1.30am Left 68%

Day two - About 14 hours off charger and again hefty a bit of use. Left 49%

Now Xiaomi is joining the lineup, and its going a bit more premium in its effort, too. The new Xiaomi Mi A1 is a variant of the Mi 5X, which launched back in July, but with a few key changes in place to fit into the Android One family. Continued...
