    Default intelsat 19

Hey Guys I have pointed an old pay tv dish 65cm w/ universal KU lnb at Intelsat 19, I have 90% sig quality and can pull alot of channels (mostly encrypted) was able to watch Euronews FTA. Im looking at trying my V8 Superbox with some of the powervu channels on this satellite as I cannot seem to scan them in i'm assuming ill need to purchase a C Band LNB?

    If you're after the C-Band channels, you'll need a C-Band dish as well as a C-Band LNB

If it's a solid dish it will be OK, but for C-Band, usually minimum effective mesh size is 2.3m.

Even a 1.8m mesh dish aimed at Intelsat 19 C band will receive many of the services, but it doesn't have enough gain to allow for a fade margin, which means that when the signal level drops, (heavy rain events etc) you will loose reception, and solar outages (when the sun appears directly "behind" the satellite as seen by your dish) will last a little longer.

As MTV says, new 2.3m mesh dishes are cheap enough, and if you install it yourself, you could have a working C band setup, including pole, for around $300-350.

With the appropriate receiver there is a lot of material available on this satellite on C band that you might find interesting.

Hey how did you end up with Intelsat 19? Did you get any useful channels off of it? What did you find for LNB and reciever?
