I have a 2009 LG 50PS8OED Plasma TV that has an inbuilt 250gig hard drive - has inbuilt PVR and constantly records the last 2 hours of TV.

For a while now it has been increasingly showing signs of corrupted software - behaves a lot like a normal PC operating system that has taken a hit and freezing but comes all good when turned off and turned back on.

In the case of the TV it sometimes switches itself off and then back on, or the screen freezes but audio continues, or continues to work but has no controls. Switching off and back on fixes everything until next time.

I visited an authorised repairer to get a call out to reload the software but they require the TV in their shop - expensive for them to pick up and awkward for me to take to them.

Can the software be reloaded at my house or does it need to go to the service centre.

Thanks

Garry
