Was reading about KODI being blocked or stopped last week
    I just ignore it now.
Kodi itself is an ok media player
The addons is what has killed it with so much infighting.

Better options out in the market now

Enlighten me, if not publicly then pm me
I think there is fear amongst the developers that they may be liable for pirating etc

I guess that was always coming
Eventually when something gets popular enough, the Media Houses take notice.
Geez, i've even seen Paul Worstling on IFISH showing an Android box with Kodi for a Caravan he was pushing on his show.

For a more balanced view see

Much of the article in the original post seems to be from here, but omitting some of the essential parts. Firstly, as the GPL applies, the code is freely available and can be forked at any time. If they include DRM it is likely that legitimate content plugins will then co-exist with plugins offering unauthorised content. Of course, it is most unlikely that so-called "rights holders" will deign to offer reasonably priced content just yet, so I can't see them being interested.

Ok, so the story is only the Android Boxes being sold as "Fully Loaded" with Kodi are in question
    Not KODI itself

Next, Its NOT ILLEGAL TO "WATCH" STREAMS VIA KODI?
"The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has confirmed that watching pirated video streams online does not break any copyright laws."

So the sale of Fully Loaded boxes is one thing
And the writers of KODI are very happy about the news, as they are sick of their software being used for profit.

A tip for Kodi users, i watch a lot of documentaries on kodi tv channels and get pissed at having to use openload.
Have partially solved the problem by opening openload on my android mobile, settings, save page to screen (or similar) dependent on which version of android
Now it is only a matter of pushing the widget on your screen, not a robot etc and pair, 20 sec process and you have openload for 4 hours

Apparently Kodi are not prepared to play ball

In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.
