What a joke this country is becoming.
34 year old male marries a 14 year old girl.......yes MARRIES, actually married in this country by an Islamic Imam.
A man, 34, has been charged with sexually assaulting his child "bride" and a Melbourne Muslim cleric is accused of the girl's forced marriage.
The assault is alleged to have occured less than two days after, the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court heard on Friday.
Mohammad Shakir of Springvale, is charged with being a party to a forced marriage and sexually penetrating a child under 16, between September 30 and October 1 last year. He faced court via videolink.
Imam Ibrahim Omerdic, 61, is charged with conduct that caused a minor to enter into a forced marriage at Noble Park on September 29 last year.
A DVD of the ceremony being conducted at a mosque may form part of the evidence, the court was told.
Omerdic’s bail was continued and Shakir was further remanded in custody until the case resumes on February 3.
So how can this get any worse ?
Police drop the child sex charges against him and only charge him with a single charge of breaching the Victorian Marriage Act.

So there you go. You can root 14 year olds if you marry them, all you will get is a slap for breach of the marriage act. Mohammad Shakir pleaded guilty to going through a formal ceremony of marriage with a person not of marriageable age at Noble Park last September.
The "wedding" was conducted by former imam Ibrahim Omerdic.
As part of Shakir's plea, two charges were withdrawn by prosecutors in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
They included allegations Shakir had sex with the girl between September 30 and October 1, following their wedding.

I did a quick run through General Chat and read the start of that thread and thought it was just about pedophiles and an old thread given the first post date.
