I think if you want a good TV get a well known good brand like LG, Samsung, Sony etc .....
I also have tried an Aldi TV & returned it about 3 weeks later ....
Not sure how true this is, but it has been posted on the net
I have purchased a Bauhn TV before, a 1080p 50" model.
It was cheap and nasty, with many issues
I sold it 3 weeks later and it died on the purchaser with in 6 months.
But, may appeal to some
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

I am quite happy with my Baun 68" I got for 799 (not a typo) now almost a year ago and without the spyware device.
It was 899 and I waited and that was rewarded (also a tip from the staff).
My old 50" HD Pana plasma did however a better job in SD (freeview).
I don't watch freeview and this Baun does a briliant and much better job with the higher definitions from the sources I use.
At the time I bought it there was an independent and professional looking review comparing it to screens 5x the price with only minor quality differences.
Today I see things very differently with that old worn out saying 'you get what you pay for.'
I say:
Buy cheap and you get cheap junk
Buy expensive and you get expensive junk
Everywhere things are made only with profits in mind but not to last long or be repairable.

I tend to agree with that statement now.
I currently have the back off my 10 year old Sony Bravia LCD 46" and the build quality, construction and sheer weight is insane.
There is NO WAY you will find that in a Sony, Samsung or LG of today
In fact, my old Sony still has a better 1080p picture than a 3 year old Samsung Series 6 i have.
It is a shame.
I'll also say, the ALDI Bauhn 50" i had was obvious to pick its lesser picture quality
Just with the naked eye and very little trying.
It was built and set up to impressive the unwary, too bright, too saturated, etc, all to hide the fact the actual picture was not very detailed at all.
It struggled to play back many file formats (with it internal media player)
Too me, it was much the same firmware as a Kogan TV
(i've worked with both, very very similar OSD and Menus)
Could i live with one as a Daily Driver, NO WAY.
Could i live with one as a Workshop TV, perhaps
But i would probably prefer to buy a secondhand Name Brand for $500, which is 1 or 2 years old.
Yet many people seem happy with a TV like that, so i thought it worth posting.
At least you can take it back within 60 days if its a bucket of crap.
