What is more important, is Vivant Tech are always working on firmware updates.
In a world where most just drop a product on the market and run.

In the passed they have listened to our issues, asked for samples of our Digital TV transmissions and corrected the problem.
    And promptly too.
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Actually, you were reminded about the no self promotion rule that Premium Membership, permits promotion.

You've been given a free run for a very long time since you were given permission to post a product 'review'.

Blatantly abusing the rule by promoting bulk buys is a bit rude.

Still self-promoting by PM using the forum is still breaching the rule.

A tiny AU$20 Premium Membership for all the promotion you've been allowed so far isn't worth it to you?

    Thanks mate.

I'm sure everyone can appreciate that Premium Membership is the only income we get and without it, Austech simply wouldn't exist.

So when we see companies/businesses/individuals profiting by promoting their products here and not supporting us.... well, I'm sure you see our perspective.

Premium membership is open to anyone. It's only AU$20 per year... that's only around 6 cents a day, so I'd encourage all members to consider it.

Anyway.... back on topic... great product!

I am considering getting this for my home theatre, as I currently don't have a STB in there - this is where I started down the path of a $50 STB or an android TV Box.

I think the answer is no, but I thought I'd check: Can this box be accessed remotely from another room as following:

    1. To change recording schedules, I presume if it were possible it would be through a web interface? - This is so I don't have to power on my amp/projector to record a show.
    2. To view recorded TV (perhaps DLNA?) - This is so I can access recorded material from another (networked) TV in the house and use the U5 as my sole recording device

PS. Any update on a group buy?

EDIT: Looks like I found an answer to question 2 - "If you want to watch recordings on other device, you can do so easily by going to the pvr directory using SAMBA, or use UPnP or Plex server running on the box."

    Thanks

The previous model U4 has a web login page where you can access that sort of stuff, though I haven't really used it.

This is possible to be done by accessing webinterface with TVHeadend where schedules can be managed. Or through TVHeadend in Kodi to start an instant recording.
