    Default FAI Security Guard SGI/SGII

Anybody have the installers manual for these crusty alarms?

Former Chairman of FAI Home Security Brad Cooper was released from prison about seven years ago. You could ask him for a copy.

Here was A Current Affair's review of the gear and the installing company.

There were 'issues' with these 20 years ago. Why on Earth you'd want to resurrect one is beyond me. Your reference to 'crusty' doesn't even do it justice. Even if it were the best gear known to man, twenty years ahead of its time but it was still 20 years old, for heavens sake, get rid of it.

Innovation in this industry is crippled as long as people refuse to accept that technology has a lifespan. Bin it!

One of mums friends who is in her 70s asked if i could take a look at it, from what i can gather the battery is no good, but have heard that if its been off for so long the keyfobs need to be re-paired with the system (could be wrong)

Believe me i would much rather change it to a REAL system but you know how it goes with pensioners..

The battery is worth more than the system. New hardware is ridiculously inexpensive.

Friends don't let friends etc. etc....

Just to update this thread, changed the battery and systems working again with no loss of keyfob pairing, note to others the battery is 12v 3.2ah PS1232
