Sky Muster is NBN Satellite (not TV) and must be installed by NBN accredited contractors.

As it's a 2-way system, it requires measuring signals transmitted as well as received.

I'll move this thread to the NBN section.

I read what you wrote and Sky muster is only NBN satellite (that is the satellite part).

You posted in the satellite TV section, which has nothing whatsoever to do with Sky muster.

I gave you a factual answer to the question you asked.

Yes, you need specific equipment to align it.... but as you now say you already know about the whole situation, then I don't see any point you asking about it to begin with.

As for your personal insult... that was uncalled for, unwarranted and completely unnecessary.

If you don't wish to post, that's your choice, but lose the trolling attitude.

    Back on topic.

Yep! I doubt standard equipment will do anything for you.
I watched the tech install mine, he used software to tune it.
After installing & roughly pointing the dish in the right direction, he hooked the dish up to the S-NTD, plugged his laptop into the S-NTD, turned on the tuning signal & then aligned the dish by small sweeps of the dish to get the tuning beeps coming from the ODU.
When he was satisfied that the dish was centred in the spot beam, he went inside, turned off the tuning signal beeps, unplugged his laptop, plugged the S-NTD into my PC, waited for network connection & ran a speed test to complete the job.
I also had to sign a statement that I would not interfere with the positioning of the dish or any of the NBN equipment. All work must be carried out by authorised personnel.

The tech also warned of microwave radiation hazard & that the power must be disconnected from the S-NTD before walking in front of the dish if I want to clean my roof or work on my solar panels just near the dish.
    Cheers, Tiny

Yes mate... any microwave transmitter can be hazardous in close proximity.

Remember, it's a highly concentrated beam.

Probably a good reminder to everyone.

I wondered why your tan was a strange colour. Just kidding.

Yep it's real easy to forget that they are 2 way dishes; there is a strong signal radiating out from the front of dish in close proximity.
    Cheers, Tiny
