I upgraded our Tapatalk plugin today as it was old and unsupported. There was a bit of a hiccup, but all should be good.

Ok, just in regards to a bit of discussion lately about Tapatalk.
I believe from recent discussion, if you have the free version of Tapatalk you may receive ads from Tapatalk. If you purchase Tapatalk Pro (the paid version), you wont get them.
From our end in our Tapatalk control panel, we cannot disable ads as we have "free" account. To disable them, we need to move to the paid model, the cheapest which is $60 a year.
However, in our VBulletin control panel we do have some control over ads via user groups. I have disabled ads for Premium Members because as far as I am concerned they shouldnt have to see them. As to other groups, I will have to have a think about it. We basically run on not much money , and the amount isnt increasing each year.
I didn't realise you got a bit of income from the Tapatalk ads, or I wouldn't have whinged.
I was just annoyed that austech was the only site of 4 regular ones I use that had ads.
I could always spend $14 on the premium Tapatalk I suppose.....

I dont think we receive #### all, I will have to have a look as it must be payed in to our Paypal account ?.....I have not logged in to Tapatalk for about 4 years and basically all controls were at whatever default was, but basically we signed up for a free account at the time and now free accounts have ads. I dont know when this started happening as I dont use Tapatalk.
You shouldnt be seeing any ads mate as you are a Premium Member, I just made that change earlier after hearing back from Tapatalk.
I will have a look to see what if anything we are getting, if its a negligible amount I will disable it for all user groups.
I cant find any trace of money from Tapatalk via Paypal. In our Tapatalk site owner console, it seems "Payment via Stripe" is selected and Paypal is not, despite the Paypal option having our Paypal address in it. We dont have a Stripe account and obviously would not have selected it. I have asked them where is the money we should have been paid if you ran ads on our site.
I can see whats going to happen here.......
This explains all the emails
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!
