Default MFB To Be Disbanded And Amalgamated With CFA 'Career' Staff As Fire Rescue Victoria

    Like this is gonna work?

CFA is to be divided into career and volunteer firefighters and admin.

MFB (Melbourne Metro Fire Service) is to be amalgamated with CFA career staff to become Fire Rescue Victoria.

The intention for the existing 35 odd 'integrated CFA Stations is most will still co-exist, but think about it... different FRV and CFA trucks, different uniforms and protective clothing, appliance and vehicle signage, building signage, stationery... the list goes on... not to mention driving the wedge between volunteers and staff even deeper, all with a very conservative cost to the Victorian taxpayer of a minimum of 1 billion dollars and that's just the set-up cost.

Just a deal to appease the union for support last election. Sackings of anyone who disagreed and even the resignation of the minister at one stage IIRC. Its all been discussed here before. Some of the restrictions and rules mandated by the union are insane, but Dan the man has to repay the favours. He has no choice.

Don't think Dan will be asking the MFB to hand out how to vote cards again

Maybe ....but really mate...he's a politician and will do whatever, promise whatever, juggle whatever to get elected. It's just a shame that it will just squander a squadillion dollars yet again for political power.

That's just the way it is unfortunately.
