    Default Nicky Hayden cycling accident

Just to follow on from Tinys post in the WSBK thread
I thought i'd start a thread on Nicky's condition, as it doesn't seem as good as first thought.

    Updates here:

At times like these it is hard not to think of Micheal Schumacher and Jules Bianchi
They are keeping very tight lipped about Nicky's condition, which may be standard issue for a head injury
But it is also how the above 2 F1 drivers story went also.

On Thursday, the hospital confirmed Hayden had "suffered a serious polytrauma with subsequent serious cerebral damage".
Can't help but wish for a full recovery!

    Very sad,

    here is Redbull Honda statement.

& a statement by a close friend of the family who has been with Earl Hayden (Nickys Dad).
    Cheers, Tiny

If he has suffered severe head trauma, there may be hope. I have 21% permanent brain damage, I just reckon it was the part I never used!

It all depends upon where the trauma is as to long term or short term effects. Even after 16 years, I still notice some small improvements, so there is hope for him. I am praying so.

Seems the injuries were worse than reported. He passed this morning.

    Ah shit !!!!

    Thats pissed me off.
Thoughts for his family and partner.
A true nice guy of the sport, would have made a great commentator one day.
    This is bloody sad news
I'd hate to think it came down to a "Switch Off" decision the family had to make, how hard would that be

I haven't read much on who's fault the accident was, whether car drove into the bike riders path or vice versa
