Default New Android Tablet - Seeking Advice

Looking for advice re the purchase of a new Android tablet. After something cheap that will run the FTA TV apps (Freeview, iView, TenPlay, etc) as well as Netflix.

10 inch screen or slightly larger is needed. WiFi only.

Having not purchased an Android tablet since the days of Android 4.0 ('Ice Cream Sandwich') I don't know if Android 6.0 is sufficient for running those apps or should I look for something with 7.0?

There are plenty of 10.1inch tablets around sub $150 at various stores (probably in Android 6.0). Could there be issues running the above apps with those tablets?

Android 4.0 and above will run most everything.
My old phone has Jelly Bean and runs everything.

Just look for a quality screen and battery life

I've also noticed a heap of people with 13" and above size tablets over the passed year too.
No idea what brand/make they are, they look impressive tho.

Yes, in that you get what you pay for

Some of the cheap shit doesnt have Google Play store access, many are severely underpowered and many don't have enough ram. Screen resolution is terrible in many, and to mention my first line again, you get what you pay for.

Asus and Samsung are pretty decent when it comes to android tablets. I had an Asus tablet (7in) that I am still using for the last 5 years. It's pretty durable.

I've recently been given an older ASUS tablet that works quite well for want I want it for. Has access to google play etc. have yet to try any of the TV stuff, though.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I don't know if they make resistive touchscreens any more on these, but I find capacitive-based ones much better to use.

    From Netflix website
Netflix is available on Android phones and tablets running Android 2.3 or later. The current version of the Netflix app requires Android version 4.4.2 or later.
