I used Samsung Smart Switch a couple of weeks ago:
-> Note 5 to S8+
-> Nexus 5 to Note 5
Dunno.....my S8 pretty much looks like my Note 5.....I didnt take much notice.
What steps or programs do you guys use to move all Apps, Data, Passwords, Settings, Messages, etc from an existing Android Phone to a New Android Phone?
I have a few things that concern me;
I am not one that likes updating to the latest Apps
So, can i just somehow, backup all my Android Apps and Data and move them across to a new phone?
I dislike downloading the latest Apps in some cases, as new versions carry Ads or are not compatible with a Desktop version i may have of the same program
Viber is a classic example.
I also just like how an App is, and newer version often spoil that experience.
Also, when i do download all new Apps for a new phone, the process takes for ever to get everything sorted out.
Forgetting usernames and passwords, etc etc, can take days.
Is there a process i can follow here?
Anyone have some suggestions?
I use gmail for all my Contacts, Calendar and Emails
I'm more interested in how to copy whole Apps in their entirety with all associated Data
Viber
and so on......
Thanks

Same... transferred from Huawei to Samsung S8 using Samsung Smart Switch.
It lets you choose what you want to transfer.
Copied all my apps, contacts, photos, call and sms history, etc.
I was expecting a nightmare, but it worked flawlessly first go.
I'm assuming it's only for use transferring to a Samsung phone.

Thanks guys, i'd even watched a YouTube on SmartSwitch, it seemed too easy to be true!
Well, i can put my fully manual method to bed now
I managed to completely screw up my Viber history and across 3 devices doing it "my way"
When you use SmartSwitch with Apps like Viber or WhatsApp, and directly copy them over, do you have to then Activate then on the new device?
Or are they up and running like it was on the old device?
Is SmartSwitch just a Samsung thing?
Or any Android phone can use it?
Or does at least one of the phones need to be a Samsung?
Thanks
EDIT:
• Android™ owners
- Wireless transfer: Android 4.0 or higher
- Wireless transfers from a compatible Android device to Galaxy device: Android 4.0 or higher (Galaxy device must support a ‘Mobile AP’ function to allow content to be transferred.)
- Wired transfer: Android 4.3 or higher, charger cable, and a USB connector

Haven't used those particular apps, but all I use just worked just as they did on my old phone.
Yep.. I thought it all looked too easy as well and was very surprised how easy it was... and everything just worked.
Smartswitch was already in the new Samsung phone and you need to install it in your old phone, but you get a prompt to do that as well.
There are various methods you can use for the transfer... via USB cable, Bluetooth, via PC, etc.
I used the USB cable method.
Once you have transferred every thing, go straight to the play store settings and select "Do not auto-update apps". It will still notify you of updates but you choose what to update.
I've used an application called Xender. It also lets you transfer files from your PC to smartphone.
Another vote for Smartswitch here.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
