    Default HDD Chatter

I am wondering why my WIN 10 PC HDD chatters continuously for +-20 minutes after startup. Any thoughts please? Apart from the fact that it's old, like me.

It's likely you have programs that also start up and run in the background, most of which will go online checking for updates, downloading and installing them.

There's a lot of WIN10 apps that do this by default.

Check your settings to see what runs at startup.

Yep... may be set by default to scan drives.
