If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!
Are they really a terrorist organisation? I have no idea, as I rarely see anything from Al Jazeera.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
Prior to his death, the world renowned journalist Sir David Frost reported for Al Jazeera.
Had the channel been in any way dodgy, I would have thought he wouldnt be associated with them.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
What the Saudi group doesn't like is that Al Jazeera reports on things that those countries would normally censor from the media. It has nothing to do with claims that they (Al Jazeera) support terrorist activities, regardless of whether Qatar does or not.

I've actually found a lot of AJ news to be quite informative and often offers a different perspective to some 'mainstream' media coverage.

Totally agree.
The quality and scope of local mainstream media coverage (both private and public) is mediocre at best, and becomes transfixed with the latest "headline" to the exclusion of everything else happening in the world.
Local coverage has also become increasingly partisan in the presentation of both local and international news.....a trend that seems to now be quite prevalent in Western media in general.
Another service we have taken to watching of late is TRTWorld on the same AS7 transponder as Al Jazeera.
A surprisingly diverse and detailed coverage of world news, and excellent world business coverage.
Both AJ and TRT are HD, and the picture quality on both channels is excellent.
As a footnote, Al Jazeera have two distinct networks....AJ English and AJ Arabic.
It is the Arabic service that gets up the nose of many of the other Arab States, although they do want to close down the whole shooting match.
Programming on the Arabic service is quite different to the English service and covers areas of some considerable sensitivity in the region.
None of this content is broadcast on Al-Jazeera English (AJE), which is separate from its Arabic stablemate, with different management, different editorial lines, even physically separate buildings in Doha.
