BBC iplayer - not playing

I'm not using a browser.
I download the app and then sign in.
The other version's that I have work on a Windows PC using DNS4me and Chrome and a Linux machine using get-iplayer and DNS4me and Firefox.
You can stream any channel live or watch say the highlights of Wimbledom.
On an Android device you do not use the browser.
