Default BBC iplayer - not playing

Streams do not play in Firefox. Hmm. Unfreeze Chrome. Streams do not play in Chrome. Hmm.

Samsung Tab S 8.4 and Lollipop from memory.

What do you mean by 'do not play'? Are you saying that streams play but stop and start?

If streams do not play at all, do you have a dns4me or similar account to avoid geo-blocking?

I've just checked on my Windows 10 machine using Firefox v.54.0.1 (32bit) and URL is streaming OK at present.

The news at is also playing faultlessly.

Try them from the links I've provided.

Tried your first link - no different to what i have been getting previously.i.e. the loading/working circular motion, then the play icon appears, pressing that, zip - nothing happens in either browser.

1/. Guiseppe, you have not answered my question whether you are using a DNS service such as dns4me to circumvent geo-blocking.

    Please respond!

2/. Are you able to stream TV programs (in real time) from other (NOT BBC) websites using this machine?

3/. I assume that by 'Samsung Tab S 8.4 and Lollipop from memory' you mean that you are using a Samsung tablet running the Lollypop (5.0) version of Android OS???

Please answer ALL 3 (three) questions.

(Gosh, I detest having to 'extract' information from people).

Sorry tristen. I wasn't meaning to be obtuse. So to answer your questions:

    1. Yes.

    2. I haven't tried. BBC is my only interest - Wimbledon.

    3. Yes.

Further searching of the BBC site gives this information. I cannot believe that Android OS is not mentioned!

    EDIT:

    1. I thought chrome had flash capability built in.

    2. So far iplayer works well in Debian Jessie and chrome(ium?) on another machine.

    EDIT2:

It seems that Android doesn't have/support flash so that's that as far as iplayer is concerned.

I have numerous android machines all work with iplayer.
My Samsung galaxy Tab 2 has no problems.
It even works on my Sony Android TV.
Try checking your DNS settings and/or reboot.
Just a thought, you have downloaded the latest BBC Android iplayer app.
Aptoide or PureAPK and signed in with a valid UK post code.

Yes, I also have had BBC iPlayer working on several Android-based devices.

    Now, Guiseppe!

1/. Which DNS service are you using to circumvent geo-blocking?

2/. How have you implemented DNS on you Android machine ? (Or perhaps you attempting to do this in your router?).

3/. If done on machine, how?

4/. Please read the guide for implementing manual DNS settings for Android available at .

5/. I assume that your Tablet is connecting wirelessly to your LAN? (Perhaps it's a wired connection?).

6/. Let all of us know what progress you are making.

    1. Getflix

2, 3 & 4. Changed DNS on the tablet under WiFi settings - this is not the problem as I have the same setup working in Debian Jessie (EDIT: on another machine).

    5. Yes.

    6. After a lot of phaffing around I now have, supposedly, flash 11.1.115.81 installed. I cannot find anywhere to enable it in Firefox either under "Tools" or "Settings"

EDIT2: If I go into "Flash Player Settings" I get a web page with the title "Settings Manager" the URL is

The content of the page is a small square with a question mark and two rectangles with right pointing arrows.
Clicking the question mark gives a blurb about Local Storage, Peer-assisted Networking and Troubleshooting.

No idea what the two rectangles do - clicking on them doesn't do anything that can be seen.

If it's a dns fault you will usually get a pop up from the bbc saying that it's only available to U.K. residents.

When I have had the spinning wheel in the past that won't go away I have turned everything off (modem, tv box) for a minute and then turned everything on and it fixes it.

Every thing works up to where clicking on the play button should start the stream but it doesn't!!!

Oh, and if you are watching it through a browser with extensions, rather than the app, getflix may not work.
I went through this with them in their support channels, from memory it was chrome but it could be others too.

    Yes.

Putting into a desktop takes you to a "Settings Manager" page but completely different to the tablet page ...

As it would be nice if it worked but not absolutely essential I am just about to the give up and go away stage.
