    Default Magna stalling issues

    Gday

I bought a 2003 3.5 TJ wagon a year and half ago. While i was driving from Wollongong to Sydney doing around 110kms uphill, the car had a miss for a couple of seconds then came good and continued as normal but the engine light came on.
When i finally came up to the first set of lights to slow down it stalled.Started right back up again and took off.Everytime thereafter when either coming to any stop, reversing or taking off caused a stall.I noticed the gear changes are a lot rougher up and down and the smell of exhaust was rich, different to what its like normally.Have to keep riding the accelerator when stopped to stop it from stalling.Particularly under load.As when facing downhill it doesnt stall on take off.

Well then the next day engine light went off and business as usual.Car ran fine. Then light came back on couple of days later, same crap again as above. Then next day came good again. Its been a few days since its done it but i havent driven it much.
Havent done codes yet.The last couple of stalls i had problems starting it up again. One when motor was warm when stalled, other on cold start in the morning which it would start for a few seconds then stall for a few times before coming good. Took a few goes but kicked over and hasnt been a problem since which has been last few days.

Or should i just torch it and dance around it like a mad man?

Also check the idle air valve, give the maf and throttle body a clean.

Sounds like the classic oxygen sensor failure

try asking your question on the Aussie Magna forum. either way you will need to get the codes pulled.

Symptomatic of a dodgy maf sensor. Get someone to pull the codes for you, that'll confirm it.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
