Default Using an NVR without a monitor

    Hello,

I am about to install an NVR and cameras. The plan is to hide away the NVR (4p Hikvision) and never have it connected to a monitor directly. Instead to connect in over the network. Question is: Can I do all configuration/maintenance/setup like this? Any other disadvantages of not having a monitor? I don't plan to constantly stream live HD feeds, so not too concerned about slowing the network down.

    Thanks,

Yes you can via the IVMS software. It is common to not put a monitor in, but you may need one to setup originally

No disadvantages except IMO it can take longer to backup events through IVMS rather than using the NVR GUI with USB drive
