But I do hope not.
I'm an oldish person who has been long overtaken by today's technology. When my husband was alive, I drew enormous satisfaction from his teaching me as much about my desktop machine as he thought I could take in. Now, without his gentle help I find myself way, WAY out of my depth.
Windows 7 64-bit, to which I cling like a bloody lifeline. No words to describe my feelings towards the 8s, or even 10.
Dell Inspiron (some identifying range no.) laptop.
Anyway: in spite of trying to reach a shallower end of the pool, I AM able to understand whatever help I'm offered. Phew !

Welcome to Austech, M-R.
We appreciate your support with Premium Membership.
There's plenty of 'oldish' members here, so you're in good company.
The 'youngish' ones aren't too shabby either.
If you need assistance with anything, just post in the applicable section.
Welcome, M-R. My wife is even more technologically illiterate than you, despite having computers in the home since the early days. Back in the days of DOS (the precursor to Windows) she could even talk someone through a computer problem, not from any first hand experience, but from having heard me do it with so many people. She knew the questions and the answers. Ask her how to turn one on, however. Even now, she can hardly turn one on, let alone shut one down. Unfortunately, Windows has made things far more complex than the (good?) old days, but it has also made things easier. Good on you for continuing to learn, despite having lost your lifetime support. As MTV has said, there's plenty of us oldies around so you are in good company. We won't even complain that you are from Victoria.......only kidding, we're pleased to have you here.

I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
