Default Using NVR ports for other devices

    Hello,

I'd like to connect my alarm system to the internet (paradox IP150 module). Instead of running a cable to my router, I'd much prefer to run one to my NVR, which has a few ports. Will that work? Any reason I shouldn't do that?

    Cheers,
    Dave

Your NVR generally will only have 1 network port that is linked to your network. The other ports spare will be the NVR's own internal network for cameras and not linked to the web. Depends on NVR.
You can still run cable to NVR but add a simple network switch to link into your network.
