Default Whoever designed the suspension on a Toyota Prado

Needs to spend the rest of his life working on it! Son turns up today with a new suspension (TJM XGS4000) for his Prado. Front Springs and Shocks went on without too much grief. I gave up after looking at the rear shockies. How the blue blazes is anyone supposed to get to the top bolt? Especially after it's been over a few dirt tracks and stuff. I think I could feel the nut, I guess it's 14 mm, I could, sort of get a ringie over it, but not to any stage of even looking like loosening the thing. So even has a (Haynes, I think) manual that makes no mention of how to remove the rear shocks, it just tells you to do it. So he is now sporting a 3" lift on the front, but the rear.........

I presume its the 120 or early 150 series ? they revised the chassis in 2016 so i cant help you with that. try taking a look at PradoPoint forums or the Prado facebook page for that particular series 90 , 120 , 150

I got out of it. Son's mate (who is a Toymotor mechanic) put it on a hoist and did it. Yes it is a few years old.
