America, Russia, United Kingdom, France and China all own and have used (tested) the same weapons in the passed.

Not sure it made the same headlines though

About the only one that did not get much exposure was China. The French got in to trouble for using Mururoa Atol, The Poms used a bit of bush called Maralinga, The Yanks, at least tried to blow up their own back yard. The Russkis got into trouble with the Yanks, which began the arms race of the 60s. Only the Chinese seem to have kept a low profile.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

The biggest danger is one of these missiles going wrong and striking land.

It's an accidental strike just waiting to happen.

The best we can hope for is one taking himself out.

Well technically speaking, the missile was outside Japanese air space again due to its extreme altitude.
Plus he knows no-one is likely to strike him pre-emptively unless they want to take on China and Russia as well so the poking will continue I'm afraid. We have to look to China for any permanent resolution to this mess with the least damage.

As much as I want the little porker to get swatted, I must agree....China could solve this if they were to have a mind, but I think they enjoy seeing the US squirm a little. The US should just laugh openly while quietly making preparations in case....

Look, if pokboys nuclear weapons go off even remotely near the Chinese then they will cop the fallout too....and I'll bet they don't want that....
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

A quick check of the map shows that any test of a long distance missile launched from Korea (N or S) and intended for an ocean splashdown has to pass over another country's land (Russia, S Korea, China or Japan).
The belligerent attitude with constant threats don't help but no-one's airspace was violated this time.

oceanboy you say other countries have tested their nuclear arsenal but did they do their testing over japan, TWICE? Over japan is the ONLY direction they could have tested their missiles? Did any other country sound nuclear warning sirens because of those countries you list above because of their testing?

. . . and did they provoke ANY other county while testing with statements like "gift package" for you?

Any southerly trajectory would violate Chinese airspace/waters.

But notice how far to the west you had to move the launch site and that trajectory would have triggered a South Korean defensive response not to mention the splashdown near the Phillipines.
This is all brinkmanship and Kim certainly has a lot of people on the brink.

US President Donald Trump has vowed to "totally destroy" North Korea unless it backs down from its weapons programs, mocking Pyongyang's leader Kim Jong-un as a "rocket man on a suicide mission".
