North Korea launches missile at Japan.
Assume the position guys.
Next missile may go astray and land in Indonesia, and we in Oz are about to welcome 20 million or more Moslem war refugees.

It was test, probably landed no where near Japan, but the news will have you believe it flew over Japan

The tv news shows vision of a rocket launch as if they have a camera on location, at least they could put some sort of notice on the footage...
A few things I don't get, NK is supposed to be in the dark ages yet can build rockets & put satellites into space... I don't know who build them for oz or if it's in oz & we're supposed to be a modern country
They would of known what's coming years ago when bush lumped them in the axil of evil speech then saw what happened to Libya so stocked up & prepared accordingly....

It wasn't assessed to be a threat at the altitude when it passed over Japanese land. There's a general agreement about a country's 'airspace' extending to an altitude of 100km (62 miles) and the missile was much higher than that over Japan at something in excess of 500 km. If it was within that 'airspace' the reaction would have been somewhat more violent.
The response to Kim's missile launch was South Korea bombing its own country.

It looks like they really make their own.
The problem is the materials and fuel, which they obviously get from China.
THey also get pretty much all their oil/petrol from China and China shows no interest in stopping or slowing the supply. IMO stopping the fuel supply alone would break North Korea's ability to be a threat.
Keep in mind that both China and Russia do NOT want South Korea and other countries to be able to defend themselves by installing the US antimissile systems.
Russia does not seem to be concerned about the North Korean missille tests.
This all shows to me the true colours of North Korea's 'allies'.

Who Flung Dung has the world where he wants them. He's just looking to see who is watching him. If the rest of the world just ignored him, he'd probably do something incredibly stupid and then N Korea would be a black spot on the map with the rest of the world having to deal with the fallout.

North Korea is a very impoverished country, their ideology is the Korean War is still on going.
Kim has to show he can defend them from the nasty West, to keep the countries unity and faith of the people.
The enemy here is America.
By Kim Jung doing these tests he is showing his country men, he can defend them.
Nothing more... There will be a Nuclear test, no doubt.
He has to show America and his country he has the power to defend them against the worlds biggest.
And in the the process, he might get something he is after.
Perhaps Trump being in power has fast tracked NK's plans to show power?

Kim is no fool, he's playing his cards, he'd be sitting back pissing himself at Turdball licking trumps arse, Australia such an easy vulnerable target, I think we would all be surprised to exactly the arsenal that Kim has ready at the red button, its inevitable a war is looming, yanks just cant stand the thought of other countries being superior to them, its gunna happen and it aint gunna be pretty.
