Tester recommendation please

Looking at selling my home to buy one of these multi-function type testers.
If you have one, can you recommend it for more functions, accuracy, price, ease of use, reliability, where to buy etc.

I bought a similar unit a few years ago and am very pleased with it.

There's a thread in this section of the forum, which refers to it and other useful, inexpensive electronics bits-and-pieces.

I am pretty sure it was me with that thread about it but cant' find it.

Anyhow I have it also for several years and it hasn't missed a beat. I think some German dude designed it as a DIY project and the Chinese picked up on it and started manufacturing it.
I have now modified it to run on two AA batteries using a tiny step up convertor because I hate those overpriced short lived 9V block batteries.
I set the step up voltage to 7.2v and the batteries last for ages. I have also added a propper on/off switch.
You probably won't use it as heavily as I do so you should be fine with the 9V block.

Damn, so many interested now!

OK here is my new offer:
- the tester
- a pile of excremet from my neighbour's dog(who sometimes eats it's own excrement, it is that good, so you gotta be quick) as a starter kit for where ever you are going to have to move to.
- not just one, but FIVE pregnant Red Back FEMALES so you won't feel lonely at your new dwelling.

Check out Dave Jones review on ; seems like a good bit of kit for the price.

Hmmm found this one on ebay.
Looks pretty good. Does some extra things like PWM output, freq meter etc
Can get it for as little as $12 for kit or $14 assembled if you don't mind waiting maybe 6 weeks for it.
I might go for the $18 one from a seller that has a better reputation for sending quicker, so I'll get it sooner and it's assembled, so if it doesn't work they can't blame me when I want them to fix it.

Bear in mind that some (extra) functions, i.e. frequency counter are going to be very basic.

The unit I bought from eBay several years ago is identical to the one at . I paid six or seven AUD for it.

Calibration was excellent for the three advertised functions.

Once you have it, we shall expect greater throughput from the Loopylou Fixit Centre at Dunnyville.
