This would have to be one of the biggest cold air masses i've ever seen in the bite
Predictions have been pulled back some what from 2 days ago
But it still looks like its full of some snow
They are calling snow to 400meters (Was down to 300meters 2 days ago)

There's predictions of 70-120cm of snow at VIC/NSW resorts this coming week.
Amazing when Sydney had 29 degrees today.
I'm glad I inspired you OB

Its often made me wonder
Us Southern States always get the cold fronts and snow falls
Yet it is Northern NSW and QLD that gets the hail stones the size of golf balls?

Interesting, was snowing here this morning, not settling though which is not unusual for this time of year.
I don't think we will see snow anything like year before last here & actually we had more snow last year than we have had this year.
Cheers, Tiny

Yea snow fall has been really hit and miss this year Tiny, I was saying to OB the other day, that usually the first 2 weeks of September produces some good falls, but tit doesnt look like its going to happen, I was hoping for a good fall as it makes the Tassi pepper trees produce some awesome fruit, last pepper season was phenomenal best I had seen in 7 years.
Been fine here all day, drove to Tullamarine and Back, some patches of rain but generally really sunny.
As for snow, not yet, not even any hail

When you're home, showered and toasty warm, its pitch black outside and you get the text from the young fella.... "I'm bogged".... "yeah, up in the snow"
Do those horses needs rugs Tiny?
I guess they don't in the wild

They were born with the best rug you can get, it's natural, it grows in size with them from birth to adult so it always fits, it's self cleaning, self repairing (to a certain extent - on rare occasions they need stitching repairs), automatically adjusts to seasonal conditions by shedding coat or growing longer. They can adjust how much insulation it gives by flattening or standing their coat up.
They can temporarily water proof it by rolling in mud.
Bloody miracle it is.
As a Vet once told me long ago; you can do more damage to a horse with a rug than without one, only sick horses, lone horses & some elderly horses may need to be rugged. You still have to be careful you don't overheat their core temp though.
Also horses in climates where temp stays below -5C for days at a time, need a rug & or stabling for core temp protection.
Horses in herds like ours that have access to bush, would only have increased risk of damaging themselves if they had rugs.

Must just be my gay mates with their clipped horse for their silly Fox hunts then

Here on the Central Tablelands its been blustery with minimum overnights of between 1 and 4 C, Daytime max of about 12 C, some cloud but less than I thought based on the current forecast.
Southern parts of Sydney seem to be getting more and stronger winds than we are.
Mid last week we went down to Minus 5C and one day hit 20C, work that out !!!
Despite being on average around the 900 metre mark, no snow YET !!
Barrington Tops in the North of the State is where they can get some really nasty weather, Hail, snow and Gale force winds but it is a bit higher than here which doesnt help even if it is closer to the Equator.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Falls Creek car park last night
Good luck with that
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!
yeah those poodles will need rugs for sure.
I always wondered whether those people that clipped their horses like poodles were gay? Now you've confirmed it.
.................................................. ................
Apparently we are going to get a big dump of snow this evening??
Cheers, Tiny
