    Default Xiaomi Mi A1

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is about to be released and I may well upgrade to one from my Xiaomi Note 4 (See existing thread)

Best price I have seen for the Black model is AU$294.55

Please post any other prices you may see.

The most exciting new Android phone is… an Android One?

    Your thoughts???

    A bit more...

Shame the Battery is only 3000mA
Otherwise looks like a great budget phone!

After the RN4, i can only ask for a better camera
If this has it, then what a great package

    Just bought it from Gearbest...

    Product Name SKU QTY Subtotal
    XIAOMI Mi A1 4G Phablet Global Version Color:BLACK 22538201 1 $243.09
    Subtotal $243.09
    Insurance $5.38
    Shipping & Handling $0.38
    Grand Total USD$224.54

Got mine from Gearbest AUD$274 by using the code GB10% (I added US$5.38 for insurance)
    Total: $281.56 AUD

Not worried about delivery time as I still have to find a buyer for my young Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Maybe time the housemate upgraded the HTC M7 I sold.

Yeah I fear the Xiaomi Note 4's 4100mAh battery may have spoiled me but this new one with the Snapdragon 625 should give a full day and as usual charging overnight. Besides as this article says comparing the Snapdragon 625 in a Note 4 against my present Note 4's Helio X20...

Helio X20 vs Snapdragon 625: Power Efficiency
Here, the Snapdragon 625 should have an edge. The chip comes with eight power efficient cores, which although may not be powerful, they are super efficient. This along with the 14nm manufacturing process will ensure that the battery on the Redmi Note 4 is amazing. Remember that both the models come with 4100mAh battery and on paper, the battery life should be better on the SD625 version as compared to the Helio X20 model

After the reviews I have read so far the camera features swung me. Mind you no complaints on the Note 4's camera.

    Android at its best
This is the purest form of Android.
Experience it on Xiaomi's powerful Mi A1.

Or straight from the horses mouth...

    Not sure about Android One

Its been tried before and failed
And we already have the Google Pixel
I just see it as a way Google to inject its "All Knowing Data Collection" to third world and emerging markets

What i do like is the Full Metal bodies of the Xiaomi products, makes a Samsung S# feel cheap and horrible
It is a reason i hate the new Samsung's too. Who needs a glass back??? Just stupid.

If Xiaomi nail a great camera, great audio, and better than average fringe reception, they will flog the market place!
And it looks like they have pushed the Camera and Audio on this model.
But from reports, the camera still struggles in low light. Samsung have had this nailed for YEARS now.
Why cant they just reverse engineer it???

Another feature i am finding SO USEFUL is the IR blaster, no Pub TV is safe!!!!

Can't wait until you get the phone sail
A comparison to the RN4 would be great

What i hate is the curved screen and curved back

I'd have the Huawei Mate 10 if it wasnt so $$$$

    WOW!!!!!!

Also seems ALL Dual Rear Camera phones take some very hit and miss photos from reports

I see some very cheeky sellers on Gumtree, selling the RN4 as a "Note 4" for $400 in the hope people confuse it for a Samsung Note 4

Yeah maybe so but I don't think it will bother me. Happy enough with the Notes pictures and overall use. The extra storage, RAM combined with the dual camera setup justifies changing phones in my book. (I hope)

No doubt sail, for the price it is unbeatable!

For people that make YouTube content or Instagram or just want photos worth printing
The 3 flagships still have it

LOL Or we could lash out AU$837 for this new baby...

Strange that when I first saw this after checking emails this morning I found a special introductory price of AU$837 at Gearbest but cannot find it again to add any link.

This has got to be the best smartphone in its price segment.

    I've been using a Xiaomi Mi5 and it's amazing!
