*Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of your car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of you car.
*Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

restart and at the Acer logo press Alt F10 if you are greeted with a windows boot screen press enter then procede with acer erecovery app.
this should let you restore to factory settings unless the hard drive has been replaced.

    sounds bios locked
get the manual if you can to see where cmos battery lives
if you can clear cmos, then you can change bios.

Maybe the question should be asked, how you got it in that condition. Generally the IT departments of most govt departments, schools included, remove the hard drives from such machines and wipe the BIOS. I've had lots of old ex-govt desktops where they leave the HDD in place but it is secure wiped and supplied sans OS. If it came still set up for use in that institution, either it has been incorrectly disposed of or someone is not doing their job.

my mates daughter left year 12 a year of 2 ago, and she didnt take back her laptop for the IT dept to remove their restrictions before she left.

i took a look at it, and the BIOS was password protected, the password was "password". lucky guess on my behalf. you never know your luck
