Thought some might be interested in this handy Trimble GPS software.
This tool enables you to enter coordinates manually for any location, or select a location from a map.
You can also select the date, time of day, and duration for the information displayed.
Once the coordinates are applied, you can view:
Satellite Library
Elevation
Number of satellites
DOPs
Visibility
Sky plot
World view
Iono map
Iono information
A word of caution.
This tool requires Microsoft Silverlight.
Much time was wasted here trying to get Silverlight working with Chrome……only to finally discover that Chrome ceased supporting Silverlight
beyond Chrome V45 (currently running V61).
I was finally able to view the tool with Silverlight in IE11, but only after Dr. Google helped me figure out how to enable it
Look Here -> |
You can do that with google earth, can't you ?
I have done a bit more digging and finally found the downloadable version of the Trimble GNSS Planning Tool:
A good explanation of the operation and outputs of the program can be found here:
And the updateable Ephemeris file (almanac.alm) can be found here:
As suggested in the program instructions (second link) the almanac file "GPS/GLONASS almanac in Trimble Planning file format" can be downloaded using the "Save link/target as" method, and then imported into the program.
