    Default Star Trek Discovery

It's on Netflix, but since the first episodes were only screened last night, I have little catching up to do. Will definitely watch this when I get the time.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I'll give it a shot, but I always found Star Trek a bit too clean and 'preachy'. I prefer my TV sci-fi a bit darker. Think Firefly, Babylon 5, Lexx, even Red Dwarf.

Yeah....apparently it is a bit darker, but if you like scifi you take what you can get...

I just downloaded the two episodes shown so far, so I'll try and have a look tonight.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

I'm with you there efab. I watched both last night, the cast are still settling into their roles, give them a few more before I'll say it is a true Trekkies show.

Oh dear my Klingon is a bit rusty.

I will wait until more episodes are available so I can enjoy it better all at once and grasp the characters quicker and especially if an arc story developes.

All Scifi these days is dark.
Dark matter sure got better with good stories and ideas especially in the last season.
Hope I can get nanites before I have to die.

THAT IS SOOOO TYPICAL f@%#ing Syfy channel
while that stupid waste of time Killjoys gets extended for a 4th and 5th season. What is wrong with these people?

Dark Matter was like Firefly on steroids but it had ideas I had never seen/heard of before and great story arcs and now a terrible cliffhanger, this is the end of the Universe!

Must investigate Dark Matter, I loved Firefly, another show that suffered an untimely demise.

I notice Firefly is being repeated - I honestly don't care - I'm watching again.
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

I didnt realise Dark Matter was a repeat when I first starting watching and I was well into the story when I found near the end of Season Two it had been cancelled mid story which was annoying.
When SciFi started running it again I didnt bother watching it until changing channels one day I realised I hadnt seen the episode screening which led me to find out it was back in production again but I had missed much of it so I didnt try to catch up.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

There's another new show called "orville' that is star trek like = with a bit more humour. It's not bad.
When I was a kid, I used to have an imaginary friend. I thought he went everywhere with me. I could talk to him and he could hear me, and he could grant me wishes and stuff too. But then I grew up, and stopped going to church.

Yeah, I've learned a few things from Star Trek.

Have you noticed that the universe is full of arseholes?

Too much touchy feely shit. "Oh captian, I feel the Klingons are upset!"
"Prepare a boarding party and we'll beam over and give them a group hug and a good talking to!"

No, get the fvck over there and shove that useless curved pointy thing up their arse!

And what is it with computers and security in the 24th century? They have more vulnerabilities than windows 3.1

I think I prefer the bad guys. The Borg, ok so they're sci-fi zombies, but at least they've refined them to be fast.
The Ferengi, which were originally just annoying trolls in TNG, but Quark from DS9 made them fiendishly and hilariously amoral. Love the rules of acquisition.
And the Vorta who are strategically evil and genetically engineered to be proud of it.

I used to make fun of DS9. Star Trek, without the trek. But I think it has been the best series so far.
The new series is looking good so far. It has taken a couple of episodes to start to get the hang of it.

I actually quite liked the latest episode. Even After Trek is starting to grow on me, I've never been a huge fan of the "after" shows. It's just a pity that all the Star Trek shows could not fall into the one timeline. It would make it so much easier to keep track of who is what, and When.

I have every episode of Star Trek ever produced loaded on my server. Now, I've just got to wait for Season 1 to finish.

Its not safe watching ANY scifi shows till you know it actually finishes as opposed to being cancelled

One of the best ever (IMHO) scifi shows I ever watched was called '', brilliant theme and acting but cancelled after the first season....................FU***KERS !!!

Oh and i hope nasty things happen to the person responsible for cancelling Firefly
