I agree, whoever decided to cancel Firefly deserves a long slow agonising death. At least "Serenity" did wrap up some of the loose ends. I've not come across Defying Gravity, must look it up.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Then you too will wonder why the cancellation, it just beggars belief

I've picked up on a few other new shows with this one.
It looks like it's doing ok so far. I wish they'd just drop speaking in klingon. It's just annoying, we get the plot. Just jump to Hunt for Red October style setting.
A sentence of two from each character and then just jump to English. If you still feel the need to include Klingon... use klingon subtitles duh!

I decided to watch Firefly after seeing it mentioned here. I'm half way through the series.
I'm indifferent to it so far. I'll see if I like it by the end of the series.

Another show I have picked up on is "Orville".
    Family guy meets Star Trek.

12 monkeys - time travel seriously messed up.
Looks like it will run into season 4.

Then there is Young Sheldon. Big Bang prequel. Piss funny and you need a very sharp wit to keep up with every little joke.

And I'm waiting for some more Westworld.
The fractional story line has my friends confused. I don't think they get it yet.

Better Call Saul, waiting for season 4.
Shit is obviously going to get messed up and that god damn switch on the wall is going to set it all off me thinks.

I watched a bit of black mirror, but I decided it was a bit too messed up for me.
It's like the twilight zone on crack.

A really good show on the BBC; Astronauts: Do you have the right stuff.
A reality TV documentary. They have picked 12 candidates (clearly smart people) and they are putting them through a truncated astronaut selection process.

Watched the first 4 episodes Of Discovery last weekend while staying at an Air B&B.

I really like the show, now to work out how I can watch it at home without subbing to Netflix or CBS All Access. Though the later are offering one week free & there are only 8 episodes all up so far. Hmm, rainy day on the weekend maybe?

Wonder if Discovery & Orville will make to the SyFy channel on Fox?? Probably a couple years time maybe.
    Cheers, Tiny

Joss Whedon himself said that it was basically a studio budget issue. Why? Well, in his words "Reality TV killed science fiction."

Studios can now make an endless plethora of no talent bullshit, with no actors and no significant budget and thus make a shit load of money by doing basically nothing...because a large slice of the population lap it up...

Thanks but if that is a torrent site forget it.
As it appears Netflix is offering a 1 month free trial, so I'll wait till the end of next month & hopefully get the end of season one with no cost.

Yeah!! I hear the community sigh!! What's the problem with $14 a month for Netflix??
Well I already have Foxtel which I need for the motorsport I like & after searching through Netflix for the first time while on a weekend away, I could not find a movie of interest that I haven't already seen on Fox, that's how I ended up stumbling upon Discovery.
I just can't justify spending the extra money to watch one show; maybe for a month or 2 I could do it, but not for any longer.
    Cheers, Tiny

Yeah, I had a quick look at American gods, I haven't quite picked up on it yet, but I may yet.
I didn't really like Firefly. It's ok, but it seemed to be missing something. I can understand why they canceled it, but it might have done well with another season.

Discovery runs only 10 episodes and has taken a break until January for the rest of season 1. DOH!

I've caught up with the season running of The Orville. Dysfunctional sci-fi. The more messed up and abstract it gets, the better.

Westworld is awesome. If you lost the plot Gordon, then the problem is that you probably didn't realise there are two plots.

Just binge watched every episode of Orville that I could find, Not bad for a Star Trek wannabe.

Another interesting one is "The Good Place" don't read the synopses beyond the first couple of episodes or you'll destroy most of the twists in the plot. The premise is people have died and gone to "The Good Place" but it turns out that a mistake was made and they shouldn't be there. The first season is spent trying to stay there. (That synopsis does not give away any of the twists)

I think Seth has a thing for Charlize Theron. But then I can't blame him. I got a thang for her.

Last Man Earth was another funny one. I watched a few episodes but didn't keep up.
Still pretty good for what I have seen. Post apocalyptic, this is the story of some of my friends. I'm sure they would live like that.

While we're in the land of disturbing: F is for Family. I can't go past Bill Burr, he's a "functional psychopath", he laughs, I laugh.

But if you want to hot wire disturbing and take it for a joy ride..... then this one comes with "warnings". Oh so many warnings....
    Big Mouth

Connie is my new all time favourite animated character.

Well watched episode 14 last night, this show is great, got me hooked.
Good direction, acting, plots & subplots. Got me guessing what's next.
Unfortunately only one episode to go next week then series 2 will be released in 2019.

Now I just have to find a way to watch Orville, in next months data.
