Rugby club with a 65 year history to close after Salim renegs on sponsorship deal.

Mr Sleiman said the club upheld its part of the deal, but the 31-year-old former Auburn mayor, who is currently behind bars, did not pay a cent. Mr Sleiman told news.com.au he is now in talks with solicitors and considering legal action.

    No surprises there.

There's a lot more people he owes money to... particularly tradies for work done on his home and developments, etc.

No doubt, most of it is overseas by now.

    F'kn scumbag!

But what penalty (if any) was imposed after he was found Guilty of Assault as there is no mention of it in that report as far as I can see.

    None!

"SALIM Mehajer has been found guilty of assaulting a Channel 7 journalist but a Magistrate declined to convict him with a penalty because he had been “hounded” in the most “appalling way”."

On that particular case I have to agree. Journalists need to be a bit more professional even with scum bags.

Who assaulted who? Seems as if the reported was assaulting (well the whole thing was just pushing and shoving) Mehajer more than the other way around

Pretty sad there needed to be a Police Strike Force set up to investigate the crash.
Wouldn't that just be normal police doing their job?

I expect the term 'strike force' may have just been a media label for police members assigned to investigate an incident... a standard police procedure.

I also expect there likely is a task force assigned to delve into all matters Mehajer-related.

Gotta broadly agree...journalists should report, not opinionate or worse, lie and invent. There are others on staff who seem to do that.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

Its possible the ones involved in Salim Mahejer's 'accident' have been involved in others in some way and this has now gone from a simple singular case to one involving numerous others, vehicles and claims for injuries involving many thousands of dollars to warrant setting up such an investigation.

I doubt he'll get off that lightly on the more serious charges he's yet to face in court.

A 'Good Behavior Bond' is at least a Recorded Conviction which can be now be used in determining any future penalties if he's convicted of any offense in the future.
And of course even though it doesnt happen as often as it should, this does make him liable to be returned to prison immediately if he breaches that Bond.

The question being. If he's a crook (which he undoubtedly is) and he likes the spotlight (which he undoubtedly does), why the blue blazes are we wasting so much forum time and space on this loser? I mean, 7 pages worth?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I think most of us are keen to see this scumbag get what he deserves.

If you're not interested in wasting your time on this topic... that's fine, nobody is forcing you to read or contribute to it.
