    ...and good luck with that.

They've become very difficult after the Harris acquisition. Numerous occasions where they refused to even answer simple questions or email current firmware, just a 'go to a dealer' response. Wouldn't even let me buy a feature upgrade.

I have had nothing but problems with M/A com-tyco-harris service. Thatís what I love about motorola. As long as your money is green theyíll do whatever lol

Not to hijack but I work as the comms guy for a large ambulance service and we have been slowly switching over to tait/harris now and itís been a nightmare for support.

I wouldn't disagree with you the system they have setup here never works right. do you work for a harris dealer that could get me the original featdata for my radio?

Usually 99.9% of the time its Game Over - Thanks for playing! When working on Harris gear, step #1 before you do ANYTHING is backup the feature string. Whether this be electronically or reading it via the menu (if "features" is enabled in the menu) and writing it down on a piece of paper. Usually whenever you read a radio with any version of ProGrammer or RPM it does this for you as it automatically saves a copy of the feature string in the Backup folder. Even if you don't have a compatible version of RPM, you should be able to at least extract the feature string using a older copy of Radio Maintenance. Like others have mentioned, contacting TAC for a feature string recovery is hit or miss, usually a miss. If you were not able to read the radio at all before you did the downgrade to R20, I wouldn't hold my breath on recovering the string, you now have a brick.

Cracked RPM is out there, but it's kept on a VERY short leash.
