Some of you may remember I spoke a while ago some hacked databases for purchase on hacking sites and I mentioned that Domino's Pizza was one of them in the US and possibly Europe.
Basically, people were selling accounts and you could order pizzas with them...free of charge to you, but at the cost of the account holder.
Domino's Australia claimed they were not hacked and it was confined to overseas. This is NOT the case. Australian customers are now receiving spam emails using their account email.
this has been reported numerous times to Dominos Australia who are replying with this same cut and pasted response :
Clearly the above is bullshit. They claim " there is no evidence to suggest that there has been unauthorised access to Domino’s systems " and then follow it up with " We are investigating a potential issue with a former supplier’s systems that may have led to a number of customer email addresses, names and store suburbs (related to pizza orders) being accessed. We apologise to customers who may have received any unsolicited emails as a result of this unauthorised access through the former supplier and recommends customers do not engage or respond to these emails "Dear XXXXX ,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We take the security and privacy of customer information seriously; there is no evidence to suggest that there has been unauthorised access to Domino’s systems. An ongoing investigation has confirmed our systems are secure and at no time has customer financial information (including credit cards) or passwords, been accessed or compromised.
Domino’s acted quickly to contain the information when it became aware of the issue and has commenced a detailed review process.
We are investigating a potential issue with a former supplier’s systems that may have led to a number of customer email addresses, names and store suburbs (related to pizza orders) being accessed.
We apologise to customers who may have received any unsolicited emails as a result of this unauthorised access through the former supplier and recommends customers do not engage or respond to these emails.
Domino’s has put in place immediate steps to prevent this from reoccurring and is working with industry best cyber-security professionals to protect customer information and further enhance the security of all of our platforms.
Also, may you kindly drag and drop the spam email/s here for us to submit this to the IT Team.

Australian customers are receiving spam email from "Jen" and "Sarah" who addresses you by name and mentions your suburb. Here is an example from my spam folder. :
" Andrew, my name is Sarah, are you in <suburb you live in> ? "
I have received 2, one from an aol address and another from Comcast (both US providers).
I do not have a Domino's account, but have ordered from their website without one and have not paid with credit card, only Paypal.
So just a heads up, use at your own risk.
With Dominos change from Coke products to Pepsi a couple of weeks ago on top of this, I wouldnt want to be a Franchise owner or investor.

I didnt know people still went to Pizza stores
On a serious note, far more people order pizza these days than drive to stores. While its probably unlikely credit card details are compromised, account details likely are. As I mentioned, I dont have an account with them.....however its clear hackers have even got non account details.
It seems as well as the Pepsi blunder (of which their Facebook page has a ton of complaints) they are reducing the pizza size.
Nice.
Last week Michael Simotas, an analyst with Deutsche Bank, reported the pizza giant was reducing the size of its pizzas, and switching cola brands from Coca-Cola to Pepsi/Schweppes.
"For Domino's, we expect that this transition will lead to lower food costs for franchisees," he said.
Asked whether it was reducing the size of its pizzas, Domino's said it was working on an "enhanced menu to cater for our customers' diverse taste requirements, including new pizzas, sides and desserts."
"Domino's will continue to provide premium ingredients, new flavours and traditional favourites at prices that provide exceptional value for money," a spokesman said.
Domino's pizza's are crap anyway so no loss there.

I always go into the store to order my pizza. Mainly because no-one will deliver out here. That said, our local take-away does brilliant Pizzas, why would I want to go the abominos anyway?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
Domino's... you get what you pay for.
Well regardless of all your comments :

Which means that a fark of a lot of people do use them..personally I only use them when they are silly enough to bring out a discount code that is really good and milk it till it expires.
Up until recently when it expired I was getting 3 pizzas, a garlic bread and a 1.25 drink for $23 delivered.
And pay with Paypal so I dont have to give a tip
