I just jumped across to Aussie from Belong.

Aussie started the process a good 30 seconds after I put it in and I was switched over to them in about 20 minutes.

Speed test on my mobile (S8+ on Wifi) shows 71.37 down and 35.63 up so happy with that.

I mentioned somewhere earlier I was with ABB under the old Govt BB scheme using the Ipstar Satellite.
As with the present SkyMuster run by the NBN, the ISP has bugger all to do with the operation other than answering the phone and issuing you with the Monthly Bill.
After some months of erratic operation, a technician was sent out and he found water had got into the 'F' connectors due to being poorly sealed on installation, the tech was sent out by a company called SkyBridge who I have suspect are also doing the present Skymuster installations and I wouldnt be surprised to see they do others as well.
Dear old Aussie Broadband sent me an email one day after being with them some two years to advise me they were transferring my account to another ISP (Skymesh) because they had decided to cease being involved with the Satellite Internet and concentrating on their ADSL market.
They thanked me for being a good customer and paying my bill on time each month which I thought was jolly decent of them..............

I doubt ABB own any of the equipment they are using to connect you to the Internet, rather they renting space from a carrier like Telstra, Optus or other who serves your area.
The proof of the pudding will be how reliable the connection is, how often it breaks down and how quickly they respond and rectify any problems.

I am guessing they have been involved in the Internet for many years around the Warnambool ? area and have now expanded into other areas as I remember seeing notices from them being available in XYZ area !!

36 hours with them and so far very happy. A speed test, to Melbourne (EDIT: While typing this) , gives ping 23 sec, 24 down and 4.6 up. This is on a 25/5 plan.

On checking emails this morning there was one from ABB which reads in part:

    "Hi xxx,

We hope you're enjoying your new nbn™ connection with us. We've done some testing since connecting your service and have found that the speed potential is 70mbps. Your speed potential is the theoretical maximum download speed your connection to the nbn™ can achieve."

That confirms the MAX Rate shown in my modem.

If Australia is a democracy why, then, is voting compulsory?

"What has changed between the arrival of the First Fleet and today?"
"Wearing leg irons is now not required."

No not strange but fact , my work mail server is hosted overseas
and by default use port 25 for outbound email. Luckily enough
i also have the option to use ssl 993 inbound and ssl 465 outbound
    with my setup.

To clarify the above two posts.

    "Port 25 blocking

From October the 24th 2014, all residential customers will have outgoing port 25 (SMTP) blocked. This will restrict customers from sending email directly to other locations on the internet. Customers will still be able to send mail via our mail server, mail.aussiebroadband.com.au

If you use an external mail server outside of the Aussie network, you won’t be able to send email unless you are exempt."

    and

    "Will this affect me?

If you are using our mail servers to send email already, you will not be affected. This is about 99% of our customers."

yes that is right and if you read my post mentioning it
you would have notice i said that if you use an email
that requires port 25 your fooked.

Not everyone wants to use their isp mail and many have.
small business's they run that use overseas email and as such
it will effect them because not all have the ssl option.
i had similar issues with telstra when they implemented it.
