    Default Crown Melbourne casino issues.

I thought is was rather odd that the Govt. is not stepping in on this issue, it has been said that its a Police issue, Yet its the Govt. that sets the rules on slot machines pay outs and percentages etc.

of course crown is denying everything about the accusations, re. option buttons and shaving off so that the machines pay out less to the public.

I dont think the Government in its own right has any powers to investigate any allegations about any matter despite formulating the Laws under which these Casino's operate the same as if I walked up to you and 'King Hit' you where you stood and you fall down.
I doubt the State Premier or any member of your State's Parliament would be the ones to investigate the matter despite them writing up the Laws for assault.
This is what they have a Police Force for.
A complaint is made to the Police, the Police have the power to conduct an investigation and pass on those findings to determine if a prosecution can be mounted.

Before we crush the dice or tear up cards, lets find out first if this compliant is genuine and who is involved in it shall we?
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

I dont know about other States but in NSW a particular Sergent of Police in each district was appointed to inspect and supervise the sales and consumption of all alcohol in Licensed premises.
Any problems and it was then brought before the Courts to be dealt with.
No doubt with the introduction of Gambling in Clubs, Pubs, Casino's etc, this has also be included in those duties.

    Good post.

Don't forget that Crown has probably donated to both major parties in Victoria, possibly making them reluctant to act.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

Why would the government investigate it ?

We have an MP, who is ironically an anti gambling crusader, who has made allegations under "parliamentary privilege" which basically means you can throw shit at anyone and not get in trouble as we have seen numerous times in the past.

If he is fair dinkum, he would be making a complaint to the correct authorities, not grand standing in parliament under privileged where it means nothing.

Personally I am not a fan of gambling or Crown and have never been there. But I will still call it for what it is......unless Wilkie wants to grow a set and do something.

Not a bad comment, all im asking is are we getting a fair go when we have a bet on the Pokies according to the Govt. rules casinos are supposed to pay out 85/87 percent i doubt this is true, some time back at Burswood casino you could actually win on the machines but now you often have to put in many $$$$$$ before you even get a free game anyone will tell you that. whether or not you like pokies its a personal choice to play them, but hey as Gordon said in his post lets not condemn then until we get the full story.
