Default Samsung LCD tv white out

Whilst watching tv last nite the tv turned to a washed out picture. Samsung LA40B650(TIF)
Did the usual adjustments etc, no good, did the you tube ask and discovered it was the T- con board
The problem is i can get a replacement from China, the part being T37OHWO2 VE BD, 37T04-COJ (as per back of board), mine is 40 inch, the purchase site states it is for only for a 37 inch screen, is there a problem in fitting it to a 40 screen?

    BN81-02372A

    T370HW02, 55.40T03.C17 or 55.40T03.C12

    T400HW02 V.5

Maybe the mystery Mr "T" is TPS65161 although there are quite a few chips with the letter "T" on that board.

May have to be a Ebay chinese job, or check out gummie and see if you can snag a dead one without the same issue. There's one in Brisbane or find another model with the same chip on the Tcon and scrap that. Always options if you try hard enough. Don't always need SMD stations either, does help though.

    Data sheet for that chip

Maybe trace the circuit out and check those output voltages to verify that it is the chip at fault first

Will this t-com board work with my tv in Australia? exactly the same part number but the scan number is different'.
Not having much luck started to use a spare rarely used smartdumb Kogan tv and the screen has turned black on that one!
