Had a head on this arvo...the SS is no more....I was hardly moving, but the other car (a Mazda 3) was doing a clip.
No injuries, and...wait for it...NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT...
Sigh!....my fault too, although she was a little close to the car in front and I didn't see her....maybe I'm just gettin too old....

Bugga!
No serious injuries to any party I hope.
No airbag deployment in a frontal collision... that's a worry.

Mate. As long as everyone is okay. That's the main thing.
The fact that you had no injuries is probably why the airbag didn't deploy. They should only go off if there is a real risk of injury.
Shame about the car mate..The SS is (was) a nice car. Great that you are OK.

Good to hear that you are OK. If there was a car in front of her, how did you have a head on?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Glad your OK.
The fact that the Airbag did not go off means no compulsory write off.
So it can be fixed.
Insurance value will determine that.

I think the airbag sensor is positioned under the center console in these cars and works on G forces to trigger.
The damage is in the center of the front of the car that caused a lot of crushing of metal that would have resulted in lower G forces.
The front fenders look almost undamaged. I think a write off may occur if the engine/transmission has been buggered by the crash

Good to hear you are OK.
Front on always sounds scary.
I have seen airbags deployed with less damage but it looks like the crumple zone did its job.
If it is not worth fixing maybe get the same model, now you got plenty of spare parts, well not the radiator and the A/C condensor as I see.

It'll buff out...
But seriously, cars can be replaced, good to hear no-one was hurt...
Glad you're OK. Car looks repairable to me ?

It looks as though the sensors may have been missed in the collision which is why the airbag did not deploy. I believe that they reside one on either side of the car and, judging by the ding in the middle, you've missed both of them. Get a few of your mates around for a barbie, they'll help you pull the dents out, then all you'll need is a bit of matching paint and a few dabs with a brush and she'll look like new......

While most of us wont see it, I wouldn't be surprised if someone with a good eye and experienced in assessing this kind of damage, on inspection may find out that the whole chassis has been kinked and if it could be driven now, it may not track just where it should.
My Son hit a Kangaroo in a Kia Rio recently on the front left quarter and it never deployed any airbags.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Yes. I suspect its a writeoff. The cross member is badly kinked, but who knows.
Either way I will get a "fixed" car that will have to be thoroughly checked out independently or a paltry market value settlement. Either way it's a massive inconvenience. We have a small second car, so mobility isn't an issue, but towing trailers and such is.
Still, no one was hurt and that's the main thing.

Depends upon your policy, if you are insured for an agreed value, if it's a write off, you may get something similar. (You may pay a little more for that, but it could be worth considering, especially if you have invested in an older car)
